If you are like most of the world, somewhere in your home is that place where things you don't know what to do with goes. If you don't know what to do with it, it's called clutter. To get rid of it, you need to determine what you need, what you don't need, and organize accordingly.
First, choose one room at a time to de-clutter. As you go through the room, evaluate the things there going from left to right. Do you use them on a daily basis, sometimes, rarely, or never? If you use them daily, put them aside in one box, if you use them sometimes or rarely, put them in a box labeled “to see about,” and if you never ever use it, put it in a box labeled "give away or sell." Once you have worked your way around the room, seal up the box of unneeded items and keep the other one in the attic. If you haven't thought about, missed, or wanted anything in that box for 6 months, get rid of that one, too. Of course, hold on to keepsakes and other sentimental items, and find an appropriate place for them. De-cluttering a home really is not difficult if you just take the few steps listed above.
Clutter is conducive to laziness and non-productiveness as well. When you want to do something and all this clutter is around you, you can't think clearly, see clearly, or produce what you want to because of it. So clear that clutter away, get rid of it, and remember that a clutter-free life is better than one full of junk.
